When is the registration deadline?
A complete registration consists of completing the online form and sending
payment (Zelle or checks postmarked by July 31).
The deadline extended to July 31, 2024!!!
Can I come by myself, not with a handbell choir?
Yes. When registering, you can indicate yourself as an Individual Ringer. We will
do our best to “plug in’ Individuals into groups who are missing members.
Is there any discount for a Group?
No. To keep things simple, the charge is $25 per person whether attending as an
individual, with a group, or as a Director.
What kind of experience do I need to have? Do you accept beginners?
While LA Bronze is excited to work with ringers in building basic ringing
techniques, all ringers must be able to read their part in their music to the best of
their ability. We will not go over basic musicianship ideas (Treble/Bass Clef notes,
Time Signatures, note duration, etc.)
Do Directors direct or ring?
Directors can opt to ring if they wish, especially if there are empty positions to fill,
whether in their choir or another participating choir. During the mass ring,
only one person will be conducting the activity. We know that many ringers are
directors in other choirs as well, so anyone interested may attend one of the
classes “Strategies for Directors”.
What is the lunch situation?
Lunch is included in the Registration Cost. When filling out the Registration form,
you may indicate a Vegan or Regular meal. If you have a particularly restrictive
diet, please pack food to supplement the provided lunch.
Do I have to learn the music ahead of time?
No, the music will be learned in the mass ringing portions of the workshop.
Do I have to purchase the music ahead of time?
Yes, all groups and individuals are expected to buy their own sheet music ahead
of the workshop. Here are the three pieces of music:
Simplicity, Matthew Compton

Quietude, Michael J. Glasgow

Peal Con Brio, Karen Thompson

Do I have to bring equipment?
● All groups are expected to bring their own tables, as our tables are limited and
available on a first-come, first-served basis.
● All groups are expected to bring bells/chimes and mallets.
● All groups are expected to bring covered foam/padding and music stands (split
binders or floor stands)
● Individual ringers are expected to bring music stands (split binder or floor stand)
● Individual ringers are NOT expected to bring tables, foam, bells, and mallets,
however, if you have some, it may be useful for you to let us know if you are
willing to bring them. Contact info@labronzehandbells.org
● Chairs are plentiful and will be provided.
● Optional: stand light, if you need it
● Optional: gloves
Will the workshop be recorded?
A basic recording of the final mass ring will be made for archival and learning
purposes. It will be available for participants but should not be further distributed
or posted publicly. Concert attire IS NOT required.
What is the parking situation?
There is a parking lot and plenty of street parking at the church. All free. Load in
information will be given closer to the workshop date.
What is the cancellation policy?
If the workshop is canceled, all registration fees will be fully refunded.
Participants who cancel their registration by August 1, 2024, will be provided a
refund, minus a handling fee of $5 per person. No refunds will be provided for
cancellations received after August 1, 2024 (after 11:59 pm PT) or for participants
